Thanks for your comments. I don't agree that all of those bipartisan policies you listed are bad, and some are not just a matter of pro or anti as many of the issues are very complex. As you rightfully pointed out, immigration is complex. I would think a policy that (a) vastly improved border security and all but shut down porous borders, (b) increased quotas for immigrants and asylum seekers, (c) provided a fast path for legal status for the people who are already here and have no violent criminal record; and (d) better work with vulnerable countries to our south to give more economic stability--would be a start to a good solution.
