I'm not sure we are in disagreement. The idea of racial construct came from Europe. It may have resulted in slaves transported to places like Brazil before America, which was the largest landing place for African slaves, but even there the was slavery of the indigenous population as well by the Portuguese, lasting well into the 18th century. It wasn't exclusively based on Black people. America's system of racial construct beginning with slavery and its ensuing laws after was far different than places like Brazil, which had a majority Black population well into the 1930s. I appreciate your very educational comments but I think my piece isn't here to compare some of the other slavery of Africans in our hemisphere. No doubt, though, classifying Black people as a race started with European meddling in Africa and slavery. The Black race was not a prevalent piece of discussion before the 1500s.
