I don’t disagree. After reading some of the comments I called a close well known black friend who is heavily involved in social justice issues and he just reminded me the deep trauma the community has suffered. He wasn’t suggesting the comments were spot (he liked the article actually and commended me for using my experience to show how systemic racism is different). Still, he just suggested that we need to understand why they are made and empathize.
