Entire journals and articles are devoted to women’s mental health.

Women have had to overcome monumental challenges in a male-dominated society, so these mental-health-building programs are much needed.

With so many biases and obstacles in everyday life, time off for women to reboot and achieve a spiritual recharge is paramount to their mental well-being.

It’s also commonplace for women to get the necessary therapy to deal with childhood problems, relationship issues, abuse and violence, childrearing and everything else life throws their way.

Let’s not take away from any of this.

But lost in the shuffle is the wellness of men, and in particular Black men.

Far too many men, regardless of race, endure family trauma, financial pressures, parenting challenges, relationship problems, career obstacles, loss and so much more. Black men suffer the added pressure of navigating being Black in a…
